Garment Care
OVERVIEW
When laundering hand-made textiles wash by hand or professionally dry clean. It’s best to wash separately the first few times so you can see how the textile reacts and to remove any excess dye that may run off. Lay flat to dry out of direct sun. Many of our garments are hand-loomed and don’t need too much agitation to clean. Store garments out of direct sunlight or in sunlight proof container to avoid color fading.
HANDWOVEN INDIGO/NATURAL DYED FABRICS
We take pride that some of our garments are dyed with organic plant materials such as Indigo and other natural dyes. Our Indigo and Natural Dyes are 100% organic and authentic. The nature of Indigo and Natural dyes is that it covers the fiber and therefore some rubbing can occur either on your skin or on other clothing. Avoid wearing indigo with white. If rubbing does occur onto another garment wash as soon as you can. It will come out- it is also nontoxic. We do our best to wash and rinse these Indigo and Natural dyed hand-loomed fabrics so there is minimal to no bleeding. Please make sure to follow the care labels for each garment. Any imperfections in weaving, dyeing, and printing are part of the beauty of hand-crafted fabrics.
